Biography
Viktor Vadász has been working as deputy director and director of programmes at the Academy of European Law (ERA) since January 2022. Before this, he was working as a judge in Hungary, dealing with criminal cases at the Budapest Regional Court. Between 2012 and 2015, he was the director of the Hungarian Academy of Justice; between 2015 and 2017, he was the head of the Department of International Relations at the Budapest Regional Court; and between 2017 and 2018, he was the leader of the Criminal Collegium of the Budapest Regional Court. From January 2018, he was an elected member of the Hungarian National Judicial Council, where he was responsible for international relations and was also the media spokesperson for the Council. In 2019–2021, he represented the Hungarian council on the Executive Board of the European Network of Councils for the Judiciary. Since June 2022, he has represented ERA in the EJTN Working Group Programme as convenour.
